Theme Park Safety VIP is teaming up with Danish software developer

Two men on a mission to digitalise safety and maintenance workflows

Experience meets innovation. David Bromilow has entered into a strategic collaboration as Director for Parks and Attractions for the Danish software company Mobaro Park. Embarking on a new chapter of his career, Bromilow is on a mission to help digitalise and streamline safety, maintenance and operations procedures and routine programmes used on a day to day basis within the theme and amusement park industry.

Back in the day, David was one of the early pioneers with the introduction and development of checklists for maintenance and safety in parks and attractions. Now, some 30 years later, he wants to persuade attractions to swap their clipboards for mobile devices. His new partner, a Danish company specialising in cloud-based checklist and reporting technology intends to become an important shift in amusement industry safety, maintenance and operations management.

– I’ve been in the business long enough to pinpoint a common headache: Who is doing what, when, and are they doing it right? There are numerous benefits to utilizing these programs and devices including available ride data and support information at the sharp end and also efficiencies to be made if we start centralising, digitalising and smartening up the way we do things in the industry. I fully aim to have my colleagues across the globe realise the sheer advantages of converting workflows to digits, says Bromilow.

He started his career as a young 17-year old apprentice mechanical Engineer at the Pleasure Beach in Blackpool, which set the spark that in part remains the focal point in his career today: Safety, maintenance and operations management in major attractions. For the past 4 decades, this has been the focus in a career that has taken him to the US, through independent consultancy, via the UK insurance business, reaching his most recent endeavour as the general manager of park operations at one of the UK’s leading theme parks. Furthermore, David Bromilow is on a number of industry boards, including the Safety & Engineering Committee of the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA).

– We feel very fortunate to have entered into an alliance with David. We couldn’t have found a more suitable and knowledgeable candidate for supporting our concept of mobile operations management. Having a well known and respected industry expert like David on board is a major asset for both Mobaro Park as well as current and future clients alike, says Jens Holm-Møller, Director and Co-founder.

The overall goal of the partnership, which takes effect this autumn, is for Mr. Bromilow and Mobaro Park to further qualify and distribute the mobile solution, but also to collaborate on suggesting global standards for safety and maintenance procedures in the amusement and theme park industry.
