The busiest hours in the park are the ones guests never see

Before sunrise, maintenance teams across United Parks & Resorts start thousands of ride checks that all have to be finished before the first guests walk in. Here's how they keep every step documented, every finding moving, and every ride ready on time.

The film

Inside the maintenance bays at SeaWorld

Every operating day, each ride across United Parks & Resorts is inspected against the manufacturer's specifications and the company's own safety standards, much of it in the hours before opening.

With Mobaro, those inspections are done and documented on phones and tablets at the ride, with photos where needed. Any finding is flagged straight to leadership, and nothing is signed off until every required step is done.

The result is a complete digital record of every inspection, and a tool United Parks counts among its most critical, every day.

The challenge

Every ride signed off before the gates open

Keeping parks like SeaWorld, Busch Gardens and Sesame Place safe takes a lot of people and, for decades, a lot of paperwork. At United Parks & Resorts, every ride is inspected every operating day against two rulebooks: the manufacturer's daily, weekly and monthly specifications, and the company's own safety standards.

Most of that work happens in the hours between sunrise and opening, in every park at once. Each inspection has to be completed, documented and signed off before the gates open, and anything found has to reach the right people while there's still time to act.

What changed

From clipboards to complete records

For decades, ride inspections across the industry ran on paper: a clipboard per ride, a tick per line and a signature at the bottom. The sheet looked the same whether every check had been done or not.

“I started in ride maintenance back in the 90s. Everything was paperwork back then. If you missed something on one of those inspection checks, there's no catch. You can skip a step or mark the wrong line, and you can still move forward.”

United Parks moved its inspections into Mobaro. Each step is now answered on a phone or tablet at the ride. Required questions can't be skipped, a photo can be made mandatory where proof matters, and an inspection can't be completed until every required step is answered and signed off.

No gaps get through. The inspection can't be completed until every required step is answered and signed off.

  • Signed off before completion

  • Any morning, searchable

Cómo funciona

One checklist, one record, one handover

Mobaro is built for attractions, around rides, manufacturer requirements and the teams who sign them off. This is how that plays out at United Parks.

Two rulebooks, one checklist

Each ride's checklist combines the manufacturer's specifications with United Parks' company-wide standards, so technicians answer one set of questions every morning. Ride manuals sit inside the checklist, and where United Parks wants visual proof, a question can require a photo. When a new checklist needs setting up, Mobaro's team helps build it.

In Mobaro, inspections can run on schedules, so the daily, weekly and monthly checks land in the right technician's app at the right time. A question can also require a signature, a reading or a scan, and the checklist reacts to the answers. The app also works offline, so inspections carry on in maintenance bays, tunnels and anywhere coverage drops, and sync when the connection returns.

From the field to leadership, instantly

When an answer flags something that can't wait, the technician documents it on the spot, with a photo if needed. The flagged answer creates an assignment for the right team and notifies leadership, so resources are on their way before opening.

Every assignment has an owner, a status and a resolution, and downtime is logged against the ride, so everyone can see what's open, who has it and when it's fixed.

“There's thousands of inspections happening at the same time, and Mobaro gives us a unique tool there because the moment that there's something that gets flagged, an opportunity that needs to be addressed immediately, there's a communication piece that the team has to document whatever they find and pass on to leadership so they can get immediate assistance for the resources.”

The handover from maintenance to operations

An inspection has to be fully signed off in Mobaro before the ride is green-tagged. That tag is the handover: operations starts its own round of checks knowing maintenance has finished, on the same shared record.

Sign-off can be limited to staff with the right competencies and certifications, and every result keeps who did what, and when. If something comes up later in the day, it goes back to maintenance as a new assignment on the same record, closing the loop between the two teams.

The results

Part of how the parks open

  • Safety you can documentNo skipped steps. A ride only goes green when every step is documented and signed off.
  • Less time chasing informationFindings reach leadership the moment they're flagged, so help is on its way before opening.
  • One digital recordThe clipboards are gone. Every inspection is saved and searchable, so any morning can be pulled up months later.
